"I don’t know you, but I thank you" is a sentiment often expressed as blood donation vehicles operate on streets in urban and rural areas, with volunteers holding signs encouraging people to donate blood. This marks the 50-year history of the dynamic blood donation movement in Taiwan. The Taiwan Blood Services Foundation is the only blood donation organization in Taiwan, with four centers located in Taipei, Hsinchu, Taichung, and Kaohsiung. It operates fixed donation stations, rooms, and vehicles and dispatches mobile blood units to organizations and rural areas to meet the blood needs of hospitals. The foundation is also responsible for blood technology research, planning large-scale blood supply during major disasters or wartime, and ensuring sustainable blood services across the country with over 1,200 employees dedicated to this mission.
Employees are the most important assets and partners of the Taiwan Blood Services Foundation. The organization prioritizes creating a healthy workplace by promoting health management through exercise, offering timely care, and earning recognition as a health-certified workplace. The foundation has established a salary structure, defined promotion and pay raise guidelines, and offers diverse benefits along with training and development opportunities, all aimed at achieving the goal of a happy enterprise.
The "2024 Happy Enterprise" awards are divided into 11 categories, including "General Life Services," "Mass Communication, Education, and Social Welfare," "Construction," "Biotech and Medical," "Technology/Energy R&D," "Finance and Consulting," "Manufacturing," "Leisure and Entertainment Services," "Hospitality and Tourism," "Trade and Distribution," and "Food and Beverage Services." This year's event was more vibrant than ever, attracting over 3,700 companies, with 494 being recognized with the Happy Enterprise Gold Award certification.
The Taiwan Blood Services Foundation has long been dedicated to promoting voluntary and non-remunerated blood donation, hoping to spread altruism throughout society. Every employee serves as the best advocate, emphasizing that only by working together can the greatest impact be achieved, extending services more broadly and effectively. The Gold Award recognition inspires the foundation to continue building a warm and friendly work environment, fostering positive labor-management interactions, and striving toward a sustainable future.
