International integration
Participation in international organizations
By participating in international organizations (e.g. Asia Pacific Blood Network (APBN), TBSF keeps abreast of the latest international trends and innovative measures of blood organizations in advanced countries. Each year, TBSF sends staff to attend the two major international conferences at Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB) and the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT). By doing so, we are able to absorb the latest information on blood transfusion medicine research and to present the results of the research as well as sharing Taiwan's experience in international symposiums.

Benchmarking and in-depth exchange
TBSF sends staff to advanced countries for benchmarking. People from other countries and regions are also sent to Taiwan for in-depth exchanges. We also organize the "Training Course for Blood Donation Operators" to exchange ideas with international peers.
Promotion of patient blood management
Patient blood management is an evidence-based and multi-specialty team approach that preserves and optimizes the systemic blood volume of patients. Patient blood management has become the mainstream strategy for patient care in advanced countries of transfusion medicine. For many years, we have been committed to a safe blood supply to ensure the safety of clinical use. At the same time, we have further protected the safety of blood transfusion patients based on evidence. The "Guidelines for Patient Blood Management" published by the National Blood Authority of Australia is specially translated into Chinese. The contents are reviewed by domestic experts in the field, compiled, and distributed to the medical community in the hopes of introducing and promoting patient blood management.
