During the more than three years of the pandemic, blood donation efforts faced numerous challenges. These included restrictions on gatherings, public fear of entering blood donation vehicles or other donation venues, restaurant closures, reduced access to public spaces and restrooms, and fewer people outdoors. Schools and companies implemented remote teaching and work, which made it difficult for blood donation vehicles to gather crowds and access campuses or corporate sites. Many people who tested positive for COVID-19 or were required to quarantine faced extended intervals before they could donate blood again. Whenever the pandemic worsened, many blood drive organizers had to cancel events. The blood donation centers faced different challenges and concerns daily.

Despite the pandemic, patients did not stop requiring medical treatment, and the need for blood supplies remained constant. Many patients rely on blood transfusions to sustain their lives. During this time, in addition to the many individuals who maintained their regular blood donation habits, various groups and organizations worked tirelessly to help us organize blood drives, all with the goal of ensuring that patients in need could safely receive blood transfusions.

The entire world has endured a catastrophe over these past few years, but amid the sacrifices and dedication, we have also experienced different forms of warmth. As the pandemic comes under control and preventive measures become part of daily life, coexisting with the virus will be the new norm. Whether it is individual donors or the companies and groups that facilitate blood donations, the life-giving energy they provide is silent yet powerful. Though the pandemic has not been fully eradicated, we created this film to capture a glimpse of that warmth. There are many more gestures of kindness that we were unable to express fully, but we are deeply grateful for all the selfless contributions.

To further amplify the influence of sustainable microfilms and promote awareness of sustainability to the public, the Golden Eagle Micro Film Festival partnered with the Asia Pacific Sustainability Action Expo. Together, they seek to inspire change through powerful stories. The festival presents sustainability efforts in innovative and visual ways, breaking free from the confines of reports and regulations, making it easier for the public to understand an organization's commitment to sustainability.

We are committed to the sustainable development of blood donation services. Through this film, we aim to communicate the life-saving concept of blood donation to the public and convey the importance of donating blood through storytelling and visuals. The recognition we received from both the Golden Eagle Micro Film Festival and the public encourages us to pursue more innovation in sustainable development and public engagement, striving to make an even greater impact.
