Ka-Chang Group has remained steadfast in its path of love and public welfare, serving as a model for corporate social responsibility. This year, Ka-Chang Group donated its fifth fixed-site blood donation vehicle, giving new life to the 16-year-old “Gongyuan” and continuing its mission to save lives.
From Humble Beginnings to a Legacy of Giving – Ka-Chang Group's Commitment to Public Welfare
President Chen Tsang-Hai of Ka-Chang Group committed to supporting blood donation vehicle programs even during the company's early days. He firmly believes, “Public welfare should not wait until profits are made—it is a responsibility that grows alongside the company.” Despite limited resources in the beginning, he insisted on donating bloodmobiles to encourage more people to participate in blood donation.
Since 2000, Ka-Chang Group has donated five fixed-site blood donation vehicles to the Taipei Blood Center. The cost of building such vehicles has surged from NT$1.8 million to NT$8 million. Nevertheless, upon learning that “Gongyuan” had been in use for 16 years and was in need of replacement, Ka-Chang Group promptly pledged to fund the new vehicle and personally participated in its design and construction to ensure it met modern standards and provided a more comfortable environment for donors.
A New Chapter for “Gongyuan” – Launch Ceremony with Distinguished Guests
The brand-new “Gongyuan” blood donation vehicle was officially launched on March 12. Ka-Chang Group collaborated with the blood center through multiple rounds of planning and design, improving every detail—from step height to seat comfort and interior layout—to offer the best possible donation experience. The vehicle also features the lovable “Blood Buddy” mascot, making donation events more approachable and engaging to the public.
On the day of the event, Ka-Chang Group and distinguished guests gathered to witness the grand re-launch of “Gongyuan.” Guests included Taipei City Deputy Commissioner of Health Lee Bi-Hui, Division Chief of Medical Affairs Chen Yi-Long, Ka-Chang Group President Chen Tsang-Hai, Chairman Sung Kuei-Hsiu, among others.

In addition to donating bloodmobiles, Ka-Chang Group actively promotes a culture of blood donation among employees. Many staff travel from as far as Taoyuan to donate blood. Even emcee Wang Tzu-Wei and Chairman’s son Sung Yung-Sheng are longtime blood donors.
General Affairs Manager Wang Tzu-Wei shared, “I used to be afraid of needles, but after joining Ka-Chang and helping organize blood donation events, I decided to overcome my fear. I successfully donated at my first event and have been a regular donor since. I'm proud to be part of this meaningful cause and encourage my colleagues to join.”
