Located in Chiayi City, Jiuhua Mountain Dizang Temple stands tall with its solemn red gate, behind which a large blood donation vehicle with a white body is parked. The windows bear the label "Dizang Wang No. 2," with its red and white color scheme standing out prominently. This marks the temple’s second donation of a large blood donation vehicle, following the initial donation of "Dizang Wang No. 1" in 2017. This time, the temple has contributed Southern Taiwan’s first electric blood donation vehicle, aiming to align with the principles of sustainable green energy while continuing to serve blood donors and promoting public welfare.

At the donation ceremony, Chiayi City Mayor Huang Min-Hui delivered an emotional speech, expressing her deep admiration for Jiuhua Mountain Dizang Temple’s actions. She also commended Chairman Huang Jun-Sen for his dedication to blood donation, stating, “When everyone moves in the right direction and strives for good causes, society will experience a positive cycle.” She emphasized that the temple’s commitment to environmental issues, quality of life, and public service has contributed to Chiayi City's progress. In particular, Jiuhua Mountain Dizang Temple's electric blood donation vehicle serves as an exemplary model for sustainability, demonstrating selfless dedication to the community.
Chiayi Mayor Huang Min-Hui, Speaker Chen Zi-Wen, Legislator Wang Mei-Hui, and other distinguished guests attended the ceremony.
Taiwan Blood Foundation CEO Wei Sheng-Tang accepted the donation on behalf of the foundation, expressing gratitude for Jiuhua Mountain Dizang Temple’s generosity. Taiwan Blood Foundation CEO Wei Sheng-Tang highlighted that Taiwan, in line with global progress, is striving for net-zero emissions by 2050 in various industries and environmental efforts. He noted that Taiwan's enthusiasm and achievements in blood donation are recognized internationally and align with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The foundation has been exploring ways to reduce carbon emissions associated with blood donation activities, including transportation energy consumption and medical resource efficiency.
Wei Sheng-Tang expressed his deep appreciation for Jiuhua Mountain Dizang Temple’s unwavering support, stating, “We are truly grateful to have like-minded partners. This ‘Dizang Wang No. 2’ meets the needs of the future and is also the first electric blood donation vehicle in Southern Taiwan. We hope it will reach more blood donors and improve the overall donation process with a more sustainable approach.”

A Continuous Cycle of Love and Kindness Chairman Huang Jun-Sen stated, “Creating a better society is our goal. Even though electric vehicles require higher costs, we are committed to making it happen.” He emphasized that while the temple is the official donor, the true contributors are the temple’s followers, whose generosity and faith made this possible.
Huang Jun-Sen further explained, “Our followers trust the temple and express gratitude for divine protection. We carefully manage the donations entrusted to us, and by donating this blood donation vehicle, we hope to transform their collective goodwill into meaningful action. Even though we already made a donation in 2017, we continue to promote blood donation as an ongoing service to society.”
Jiuhua Mountain Dizang Temple Chairman Huang Jun-Sen is also a regular blood donor and actively promotes blood donation efforts. Speaking with a humble smile, Huang Jun-Sen added,
“Spending money wisely is important, and for Jiuhua Mountain Dizang Temple, the ‘Dizang Wang No. 2’ blood donation vehicle is our top priority.”
During a post-event interview, he shared, “The cost of an electric blood donation vehicle is significantly higher than a diesel one, but considering it is the first of its kind in Southern Taiwan and its tremendous social and environmental impact, we felt it was a cause worth supporting.” His words reflect a unique philosophy on how temple donations should be used. While many religious organizations focus on grand temple renovations, believing that larger and more ornate structures deepen faith, Huang Jun-Sen sees things differently. He believes the bond between temples and their followers is built on trust and gratitude. By giving back through blood donation initiatives, the temple expresses gratitude for divine blessings and ensures the well-being of the community. Ultimately, all the kindness given returns to those who give, creating a true cycle of goodwill.
Driving Forward: A Blood Donation Fleet for Public Service
Those familiar with the legend of Dizang Bodhisattva know of his vow: “Until hell is empty, I shall not attain Buddhahood. Only when all beings are saved, will I achieve enlightenment.” The concepts of paradise and suffering exist within people’s hearts, and a simple act of kindness can have a profound impact on others. If everyone nurtures goodwill, suffering can be diminished.
Jiuhua Mountain Dizang Temple, from its religious standpoint, serves as a hub for gathering small acts of kindness into a greater force of love. In alignment with Dizang Bodhisattva’s mission, Chairman Huang Jun-Sen aspires to continue expanding the blood donation initiative, eventually developing a fleet of blood donation vehicles to spread even more love and service across Taiwan.
