Video Description:Nantou’s Zhushan Zinan Temple is the most popular God of Wealth temple in Taiwan. However, under the constraints of the COVID-19 pandemic, large-scale religious activities were at times unable to proceed, and simultaneously, blood banks reached critically low levels. For a decade now, Zinan Temple has tirelessly organized blood drives—an enduring enthusiasm that spurred its caring devotees to keep donating even amid the pandemic. In 2021*, Zinan Temple hosted 175 blood drives, collecting a total of 11,608,500 milliliters of blood. This achievement not only secured its place, for the fifth consecutive year, as the group with the highest annual blood collection under the Taichung Blood Center’s jurisdiction, but also made it the temple that collects the most blood in the entire country. Good deeds indeed bring good fortune: those who donate blood to save lives often find blessings come their way. *Translator’s Note: 110 in the Minguo calendar corresponds to 2021.

Video Description:As soon as news broke that the Zhongxiao Blood Donation Bus would be retired, countless donors expressed both surprise and regret. After quietly safeguarding the health of people in the East District for over thirty years, its journey of collecting blood for medical use came to a quiet end on April 29, 2020. Since 1994, the Zhongxiao Bus had gathered nearly 700,000 bags of donated blood, saving the lives of countless patients. Though parting inevitably brings sadness, regular blood donors need not worry. A new blood donation center is set to open in the East District in the near future, greeting everyone with a fresh new look. Enthusiastic donors will still be able to roll up their sleeves and donate. While we bid farewell with heavy hearts, let us carry the cherished memories of the past and continue the blood donation journey that has yet to conclude.
