”River of the Body: A Journey into Blood” Recommended by Good Books for All

Published in 2025, the Taiwan Blood Services Foundation’s book “River of the Body: A Journey into Blood” has been selected as a recommended title in the 88th session of Good Books for All. This program, held every six months, is jointly organized by the Taipei Public Library, New Taipei City Library, and Taoyuan City Library, and co-organized by Mandarin Daily News, Youth Cultural Enterprise, and the Children’s Literature Association of the Republic of China, to promote quality reading.

Blood is the river of the body. Its flow is not only a symbol of life but also a connection to society. Only by starting at the source and helping the public truly understand the science of blood can we inspire heartfelt passion, allowing this life-giving current to flow continuously throughout society.

The book “River of the Body: A Journey into Blood” provides readers with a clear and accessible “blood literacy map.” It transforms complex medical concepts into an approachable knowledge journey, enhanced with illustrations and special features to increase both comprehension and impact. The Foundation has donated copies of the book to 149 universities and 341 public libraries nationwide, aiming to broaden readership. This work also represents an effort to convey the value of public participation to younger generations and highlights the importance of life education, encouraging more young people to engage with healthcare systems and social welfare issues.
